Abomination was changed significantly to encourage a more dynamic playstyle with reasons to transform in and out of beast mode over the course of a fight.

The most immediately obvious change is that Shackles is now a pull instead of a stun. This drastically reduces the incentive to spam it, and rewards a more balanced selection of skills. The Abom’s stun effect has been moved to slam, in order to to increase the utility of that skill and ensure that the +stun chance on his trinkets can still go to use.

The second biggest change is that the incentives to beast form have been reworked so that transforming is much less stressful but ramping stress will become overwhelming if you stay in beast form too long. Now the question is less “should I transform this fight?” and moreso “when should I transform in and when should I transform out?”. This also makes him more dynamic over the course of a long fight as there is no longer a per-battle limit to the transform skill.
