For a game about bad situations, vanilla Blinding Gas allows for openings that are just a bit too clean and consistent. With these tweaks it’s still a very good skill, but between -5 acc and -2 spd, things should go awry just slightly more often.
I wanted to make Emboldening Vapours into something that was a little bit stronger, had more synergy with the rest of her skills, and was situationally useful but not great to spam. The target+self design allows you to power up another hero while also setting yourself up for a nice Incision or Corpse Explosion. I also changed the name to Potent Concoction to separate it from the Antiquarian’s several “vapour” skills.
Plague Doctor is the biggest beneficiary of the DoT rebalance that I did with Gyll’s Vanilla, as her blights now scale up to 8 pts/rd at level 5. In vanilla DD most DoT effects scale by +2 pts/rd which means that something like Hound’s Harry (4->12 total pts/rd, a 200% increase) scales much better than something like Plague Grenade (8->12 total pts/rd, a 50% increase). A general principle of mine is that I try to keep power levels consistent across all level-ups because I want to create balanced decision points at all levels, not clear favorite at level 1 and a different clear favorite at level 5. That’s why all DoTs in my mod double in strength from level 1 to level 5.
Finally, Disorienting Blast has been replaced with Corpse Explosion, because I wanted to attach corpse clear to something more interesting than a stun that overlaps with Blinding Gas, and I wanted something to combo with Potent Concoction so you can take that skill without being railroaded into also taking Incision.
